HC Deb 18 November 2003 vol 413 c847W
Sir Teddy Taylor

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will amend the restrictions placed on the provision of chiropody in the health service. [134095]

Dr. Ladyman

[holding answer 4 November 2003]There are no centrally imposed restrictions on the provision of chiropody in the National Health Service. Primary care trusts have the responsibility for improving the health of the community. In commissioning services PCTs need to plan local services near to patients and ensure that they are identifying the health needs of patients and securing services for them.
