HC Deb 13 November 2003 vol 413 cc461-2W
Mr. Todd

To ask the Deputy Prime Minister what assessment he has made of the implications for(a) traveller migration to the UK, (b) demand for traveller sites and (c) unauthorised encampments of the introduction of changes in the law of trespass in the Irish Republic. [137208]

Yvette Cooper

Officials of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister are currently reviewing policy on site provision and planning for gypsies and travellers. As part of this work they will also look into the wider implications of Irish traveller migration to the UK following the Republic of Ireland's legislative changes, and the possible demand for additional sites.
