HC Deb 12 November 2003 vol 413 c386W
Mr. Lyons

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions how many civil servants in the Department achieved personal bonus targets in 2002–03; and what the total value of personal bonus targets was. [132796]

Maria Eagle

The Department does not operate a personal bonus target scheme. However, we estimate that approximately 110,000 staff achieved a level of performance during 2002–03 to qualify for a performance bonus as part of the forthcoming 2003 pay settlement. The settlement has not yet been finalised, but expenditure on performance bonuses last year amounted to £24.75 million.
