To ask the Secretary of State for Health what the total funding for mental health services has been in the NHS in London in each of the past five years. [133738]

The table shows data on mental health expenditure from 1998–99 to 2002–03, which is the latest year for which figures are available.

Notes:

2002–03 data remains provisional. Expenditure relates to the commissioning of secondary care mental illness only: Figures are not available for mental illness expenditure for primary care nor mental illness expenditure within personal social services.
