§ Miss Melanie JohnsonThe Department has not funded research into combining computed tomography scans and radioactive trace positron emission tomography scans to detect lung cancer. The Medical Research Council (MRC) would consider applications for research in this specific area. The MRC always welcomes high quality applications for support into any aspect of human health and these are judged in open competition with other demands on funding.
