§ Mr. AlexanderAt 31 March 2003 the available figures show that there were three magistrates under the age of 30 and 28 between the ages of 30 and 39 within the Lancashire Commission. A National Recruitment Strategy announced by the Lord Chancellor on 7 October will seek to find ways of recruiting younger magistrates and the 3 will be actively promoted within the Duchy area.
