To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what discussions he has held with the Chancellor of the Exchequer on the impact of the rate of the euro on European funding available in Wales. [135536]

My right hon. Friend and I meet regularly with Treasury Ministers to discuss a range of issues.

The Spending Review 2002 settlement enabled the Welsh Assembly to continue to meets its commitment to the success of the Objective 1 programme in Wales.

I understand that £595 million has so far been committed to 955 projects in West Wales and the Valleys.
