To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what changes have taken place in the last three years in the value of(a) farmland and (b) farms and farm buildings. [134667]

Estimates are available only for the value, in the UK, of farm land and farm buildings combined. Statistics are also available on the average price of sales of farm land in England. The following tables show the most recent available data for each, in current and real terms (1995 prices).
