HC Deb 23 May 2003 vol 406 c31W
Mr. McNamara

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what the total value is of United Kingdom arms and weapons(a) contracts signed and (b) deliveries made to Indonesia since 1997. [115785]

Mr. Ingram

In the period from 1997 to 2001, deliveries of defence-related equipment to Indonesia were worth some £280 million. The value of export orders placed during this period was some £120 million.

Figures for 2002 are not yet available. The basis for measures of defence exports using deliveries and identified orders is explained on page 29 of UK Defence Statistics 2002, copies of which are available in the Library of the House.
