§ Jane KennedyThe Government acknowledge that steps have been made by some groups in terms of paramilitary ceasefires, independent arms inspections and three acts of decommissioning. We now need a clear and unambiguous undertaking that all the activities listed in paragraph 13 of the Joint Declaration will cease completely.
The Government are determined in their resolve to see a complete and permanent end to all paramilitary activity and will continue to bear down and thwart the efforts of those who still see violence and terror as the way forward.
