§ Mr. Timms[holding answer 19 May 2003]: According to Oftel, at the end of April 2003 there were around 1,915,000 broadband users throughout the UK. This represents about 7 per cent. of households in the UK. These data are not available for each local authority area, neither for English or Welsh regions.
