To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many road traffic accidents involving motor cycles there were resulting in(a) death and (b) serious injury in each of the last five years; and how many of those involved were (i) males and (ii) females under 2 5 years old. [113025]

The number of road traffic accidents in Great Britain involving motorcycles which resulted in(a) death and (b) serious injury in each of the last five years were as follows:

Mr. Jamieson

The table gives the number of fatal and serious accidents in Great Britain where at least one driver under the age of 17 was involved. We have no information on whether the accident was caused by a young driver.
