To ask the Secretary of State for Transport whether he has set the chairman of the Strategic Rail Authority a target for response times to letters from(a) hon. Members and (b) the general public; and if he will make a statement. [112973]

Mr. Jamieson

The Secretary of State has not set such targets for the Strategic Rail Authority (SRA). However, the SRA aims to answer all correspondence from hon. Members within 15 working days of receipt, and to answer correspondence from members of the public within 20 days of receipt.
