HC Deb 13 May 2003 vol 405 c238W
Mr. Lilley

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions by what age the majority of(a) males and (b) male manual workers have ceased to work. [112892]

Mr. Nicholas Brown

In the year March 2002 to February 2003, 52.2 per cent. of men aged 62 were economically active compared to 48.8 per cent. of men aged 631.

It is not possible to give comparable figures for male manual workers only.
