§ The Prime MinisterThe position remains as set out in the report of the Quinquennial Review of the Committee on Standards in Public Life published in January 2001, which is: "Both it (the Committee) and the Government have been free to propose topics, and the programme of work has been established after consultation between the Committee and the Government".
