§ Dr. HowellsAs the Department for Culture, Media and Sport allocates funding on a regional and national level it is not possible to give the figures requested. In 2001–02 the Department for Culture, Media and Sport's total direct spend on the North West region was £42,890.73. This funding was allocated on a region wide basis to the North West Regional Cultural Consortium. Spending on the North West Regional Cultural Consortium represented 21 per cent. of total spend (£205,493.46) on Regional Cultural Consortiums in England.
