§ Mr. BrowneWe do not have statistical information about the number of people in Northern Ireland who have midwifery qualifications but are not currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. At present there are 1,437 midwives registered with the NMC. As at 30 September 2002 there were 1,249 practising midwives.
