§ The Solicitor-GeneralFurther to my reply of 5 March 2003, the following table shows the number of cases received annually since 1992 (when records began to be kept) by the Law Officers for consideration of a referral to the Court of Appeal as an Unduly Lenient Sentence. The table also shows the number of eases referred by the Law Officers to the Court of Appeal and the number of cases in which the Court increased he sentence.
