§ Mr. JamiesonI refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave on 23 July 2002,Official Report, columns 964–65W, and the answer given by my right hon. Friend the Minister of State on 15 October 2002, Official Report, columns 714–15W. From 1 April 2003 the Vehicle Inspectorate (VI) and the Traffic Area Network (TAN) will merge to form a new agency to be known as the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA). There will be little change in the organisation of VI immediately as VI and TAN will work as two operating divisions of VOSA. There will be a progressive integration of activities and services over the following months.
