§ Mr. JamiesonThe Strategic Rail Authority has produced a practical draft strategy for the West Coast Main Line which delivers a balanced package of improvements for both passengers and freight operators, including substantial reductions in journey times by 2004 and 2006. The strategy proposes greater use of temporary closures of some sections of line to allow the upgrade to be completed more quickly and efficiently.
