HC Deb 30 June 2003 vol 408 c56W
Annabelle Ewing

To ask the Prime Minister what plans he has to raise the issue of Tibet when he visits China next month. [122630]

The Prime Minister

The Government remain of the view that a long-term political solution in Tibet can only be found through dialogue between the Chinese authorities and the Tibetan people, including the Dalai Lama. We have welcomed the visits to China by senior representatives of the Dalai Lama and have urged China to continue to develop such a dialogue.
