To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on his Department's role in the Defence Systems and Equipment International Exhibition being held in Docklands in September. [120998]

Mr. Ingram

The exhibition is an international trade event organised by a commercial company. The role of the Ministry of Defence is in inviting a number of Official Defence Delegations and as sponsor of a stand and demonstrations by British Army teams. Subject to operational constraints, two RN ships are planned to be present. A letter of welcome to the Exhibition by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence will appear in the printed catalogue.
