What safeguards will be built in to the proposed SCOPE programme, run by the Cabinet Office Intelligence and Security Secretariat, to guarantee compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Human Rights Act 1998, with particular reference to reported proposals for cross-departmental data-sharing and matching. The Government are fully aware of the need to comply with all relevant legislation in this area and this has been reflected in the requirements documentation for the SCOPE Programme. Work is continuing on its development and implementation.
