§ Mr. TimmsThe Department is one of the co-funders of the LINK Mobile Telecommunications and Health Research (MTHR) Programme along with other Government Departments, agencies and industry. The first projects to be funded under the Programme were announced in January 2002. The Department has also directly funded a small number of projects, primarily concerned with measurement issues, which fell outside the scope of the programme, but are managed and monitored according to the same principles as the MTHR work.
