To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what plans he has for the commitment of RAF aircraft and personnel to operations in the Gulf region; and if he will make a statement. [112019]

I refer the hon. Member to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence's written statement of 11 June 2003,Official Report, columns 51–2WS. We will continue to review our force levels in the context of the evolving strategic situation to ensure that we maintain an appropriate presence in Iraq for as long as necessary.
