Mr. Bercow

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what plans she has to reduce her Departments underspend in 2003–04 from that of 2002–03. [112780]

The Department is currently estimating an underspend in its Resource and Capital DEL of £216 million in 2002–03. This is less than 5 per cent. of total provision.

Planned spending for 2003–04 is set out in the Department Report 2003 (Cm5916) published in May 2003.
