To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what criteria are applied in relation to the disbandment of(a) a regiment and (b) part of a regiment of the Army. [118013]

Mr. Ingram

There are no predetermined criteria for disbanding or restructuring Army units. All military force structures are based on operational need given the current and future security environment in which the armed forces are likely to operate.
