HC Deb 11 June 2003 vol 406 c953W
Mrs. Iris Robinson

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many members of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service are unable to work as a result of violent attacks by(a) patients and (b) other members of the community. [115961]

Mr. Browne

Since 1 January 2003 there have been 70 reported incidents of violent attacks on ambulance staff, as a result of which 7 staff have been unable to work. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service does not differentiate between attacks by a patient or other members of the community when recording violent attacks.
