§ John HealeyUntil 31 March 2001 the cost of the Yeoman of The Queen's Bodyguard and the Gentlemen at Arms was met from the grant-in-aid for the Maintenance of the Occupied Royal Palaces in England, provided by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. The 2000 Royal Trustees Report agreed that certain expenditure met from the Votes of Government Departments or from the Consolidated Fund should be 891W met from the Civil List with effect from 1 April 2001. The costs of the Yeoman of The Queen's Bodyguard and the Gentlemen at Arms have been met from the Civil List since 1 April 2001. Her Majesty's Treasury also contributes towards the costs of ceremonial dress of the Captains of the Yeoman of the Queen's Bodyguard and the Gentlemen at Arms, who are also Government Whips.
