§ Mr. MorleyWe will be publishing a consultation paper later this month seeking views on possible amendments to the packaging regulations. Targets for the recovery and recycling of packaging waste from 2004 to 2008 and a range of other measures designed to improve the system are considered in the consultation document. A number of these changes have been recommended by the Advisory Committee on Packaging who have reviewed a number of aspects of the packaging regulations. We believe that the changes proposed would ensure the continued viability of the present system of packaging recovery notes and would contribute to a more efficient and effective, system.
