HC Deb 17 July 2003 vol 409 c466W
Mr. Swire

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimates he has made of the extra revenue generated through taxation on those people who will work until the age of 70 in the next 10 years. [125145]

Dawn Primarolo

Total income tax paid by people aged 65–69 with employment and self-employment income is estimated to be £1.8 billion in 2003–04. The Government will monitor the changing working patterns of older people as part of its on-going work on pensions.
