§ Caroline FlintThe Welsh Police Forces have a good relationship with the public they serve and this operation came about as a result of community intelligence. Information was received from community members of increased drug activity by a group of criminals from outside of the Newport area—leading to this successful investigation. Early identification of organised crime groups, with the immediate response of disruption tactics, has proved successful and the Force will continue with this approach.
