§ Lord Williams of MostynThe five-year Tobacco Action Plan includes specific action to improve existing enforcement activity. The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety will also bring forward proposals to place a statutory duty on councils to carry out an annual programme of enforcement action.

§ Lord Williams of MostynA five-year Tobacco Action Plan was published on 8 July 2003. The plan includes a series of actions designed to promote the provision of smoke-free facilities. An implementation group will be established shortly to take forward the agreed action points. A copy of the plan has been placed in the House Library.
