HC Deb 17 July 2003 vol 409 cc586-7W
Mr. Rosindell

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many police officers there are per head of population in Montserrat. [126067]

Mr. Rammell

There is one police officer for every 67 people. This is a little higher than the normal police/population ratio given the special need to police the volcano exclusion and daytime entry zones; and because the Montserratian police force carry out other non-core police duties such as port entry control.
