HC Deb 17 July 2003 vol 409 cc519-20W
Mr. Edward Davey

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what the(a) annual budget and (b) total central Government funding was for the Ambition Construction Programme in each financial year since 2000–01. [126838]

Mr. Browne

Ambition: Construction began to operate in June 2002. It is not possible to provide figures for the annual budget for the programme because, in addition to central Government funding, the programme draws money from a range of other sources, including the Construction Industry Training Board, European Social Fund, Single Regeneration Budget and local employers in individual pilot locations.

Central Government funding for 2002–03 was £1,516,890. For the period April to September 2003, £3,394,600 of central Government funding has been allocated to the programme. Funding for the remainder of the year will be allocated following the mid-year review of expenditure carried out by Jobcentre Plus.
