§ Mr. RammellMy right hon. Friends the Prime Minister and the Foreign Secretary discussed the situation in Chechnya with President Putin and Foreign Minister Ivanov during the State Visit last month. President Putin briefed on the political process. The Prime Minister supported a political solution to the conflict and stressed that the Chechen people should have a say in their own internal affairs.
