To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what research he has commissioned on professional indemnity insurance cover; and if he will make a statement. [125713]

Mr. Boateng

The Financial Services Authority has undertaken its own research and is aware of independent research by the Association of Independent Financial Advisers into the market for professional indemnity insurance (PII) for independent financial advisers. That research informs their work to develop policy in this area, including their forthcoming further consultation on PII.
