§ Mr. CabornThe Government are working with UK Sport, Sport England and national governing bodies to ensure that when bidding for a sporting event the costs and benefits are rigorously assessed including the regenerative impact. A detailed assessment of the regenerative impact of hosting the Olympic Games was undertaken before deciding to bid for the 2012 Games.
