To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will publish the parameters by which the Government defines whether a weapon falls into the category of weapons of mass destruction. [93321]

There is no universally accepted definition of the phrase "weapons of mass destruction", but it is generally held to refer to nuclear, chemical and biological weapons.
