To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many places there were in(a) nursing and (b) residential homes for pensioners in each year since 1997 in (i) Shrewsbury and Atcham and (ii) Shropshire. [93085]

Information on the number of places for adults aged 65 and over in Shropshire at 31 March each year from 1997 to 2001 is shown in the table. Data for 2002 are not yet available.
