Letter from Len Cook to Mr. Paul Marsden, dated 27 January 2003: As National Statistician, I have been asked to reply to your recent question about the number of workers in the Shrewsbury and Atcham parliamentary constituency and in Shropshire who have benefited from the national minimum wage (NMW) in each year since 1997. (93076) The Office for National Statistics (ONS) calculates estimates of the number of jobs paid less than NMW rates for the United Kingdom and Government Office Regions. These are available on the National Statistics website at: http://www. statistics. gov.uk/themes/labour_market/pay_and_earnings/measuring_low_pay.asp Estimates for Parliamentary Constituencies and counties are not available.
