To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) when he will reply to the letter of 11 December 2002 from the hon. Member for Sleaford and North Hykeham regarding the possible use of Caythorpe Court, Lincolnshire for the accommodation of asylum seekers; [92087]

(2) what plans his Department and its agencies have to use Caythorpe Court, Caythorpe, Lincolnshire for the accommodation of asylum seekers; and if he will make a statement. [92089]

Beverley Hughes

[holding answer 23 January 2003]: I replied to the right hon. Member on 17 and 20 January 2003. As I explained the National Asylum Support Service (NASS) is considering the use of Caythorpe Court as emergency accommodation for asylum seekers while their application for support and dispersal elsewhere is considered. No decision has yet been made.
