To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office how many statutory instruments have been issued by the Cabinet Office in each calendar year since 1979. [89841]

The information requested covering the period from 1979 to 1998 could be provided only at disproportionate cost. However, the information is available from 1999 onwards and is as follows:

1999: 4

2000: 3

2001: 1

2002: 2.
