HL Deb 22 January 2003 vol 643 c100WA
Lord Faulkner of Worcester

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What steps they are taking to involve regional directors of public health in the implementation of the recommendations in the report Preventing Accidental Injury—Priorities for Action from the Accidental Injury Task Force. [HL834]

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health (Lord Hunt of Kings Heath)

The report recommended that regional directors of public health should co-ordinate injury prevention at regional level. The report also highlighted the role of public health observatories. This is one of a wide range of public health responsibilities being discussed with regional directors of public health.
