§ Ms Rosie WintertonThe European Commission's consultation paper on the 1980 Rome Convention on the law applicable to contractual obligations has not yet been published; this is expected in the next few weeks. Before taking a position on any issue raised in that paper the Government will consult the Bar Council, the Law Society and other interested individuals and organisations. Similar consultation will take place in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
