HL Deb 16 January 2003 vol 643 c52WA
Lord Bradshaw

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they support the Highways Agency in raising an objection to a planning application which flows from the already adopted structure plan for the county of Oxfordshire. [HL1007]

Lord Macdonald of Tradeston

The Highways Agency is responsible for implementing the Government's trunk road development control policy on behalf of the Secretary of State for Transport. The policy is set out in DTLR Circular 04/2001, a copy of which has been placed in the Libraries of the House, and could lead to the Highways Agency raising proper objections to planning applications whether or not the proposed development flows from adopted structure plans.
