HC Deb 16 January 2003 vol 397 cc754-5W
Jonathan Shaw

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department pursuant to his answer of 7 January 2003, Official Report, ref 88368, what criteria his Department uses to assess whether it is satisfied that suitable arrangements are in place for reception and care when removing unaccompanied minors to their country of origin. Beverley Hughes

Prior to return reception arrangements are considered on a case-by-case basis and possible arrangements are investigated before return is made. The most suitable arrangements are for the unaccompanied minor to be returned to his/her parents or other immediate family members willing to take responsibility for the child.
