To ask the Secretary of State for International Development (1) what development projects her Department has supported in Iraq since the Gulf war in the rehabilitation of the country; and how much was financed for each project; [89122]

(2) what development projects her Department has supported in Iraq since the Gulf War for the rehabilitation of the country which have focussed on women and children; and how much was financed for each project. [89120]

Since 1991, my Department has provided funding solely for humanitarian assistance projects in Iraq. Total bilateral funding has amounted to just over £100 million. Several of the projects funded were specifically focused on women and children, although all the projects to some degree benefited women and children.

Specific data on each project is not available, except at disproportionate cost. Total annual bilateral programme expenditure for Iraq for each financial year during this period was as follows:
