§ Ruth KellyThe Queen's Civil List is the funding provided by Parliament to enable the Queen to undertake her duties as Head of State; it meets the164W central staff costs and running expenses of Her Majesty's official Household. The figure of £8,902,000 for 2001–2 in table 4.4 of the Treasury's departmental report also includes annuities granted by Parliament for HM Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother and HRH the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. It comprises:
£ Queen's Civil List 7,900,000 Parliamentary annuities HM Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother 643,000 HRH the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh 359,000 Parliamentary annuities for other members of the royal family are reimbursed by Her Majesty and are therefore not included in the net payments shown in the departmental report.
