HC Deb 14 February 2003 vol 400 c174W
Mr. Hoyle

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills what assessment he has made of the number of students able to claim grants for university in(a) Lancashire and (b) Chorley for the next three years. [97409]

Margaret Hodge

My Department collects data from local education authorities (LEAs) on the number of students domiciled in their area, studying in the UK and claiming grants by means of an annual and retrospective survey. Information is not available below LEA level or for future years at present and it will not be available for future years.

Mr. Hoyle

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills what plans he has to increase the threshold on eligibility to apply for university grants. [97410]
